Thanks so much for bringing this program back. I did receive the confirmation after I sent the alert. And, the system worked well. We attracted enough students to take care of the event’s leftovers. Especially as many caterers now have minimums for orders, it is good to know food will not go to waste. It is also nice to have a system which encourages folks to wait to be invited to help themselves to food from events they have not been invited to!

Free Food Alert has been such a lifesaver for us. Our institute’s incentive is sustainability practices, so food waste after large events was one of our biggest challenges... I had roughly 3-6 people attend and finished all the leftover food! 

Overall, the app has been very helpful with excess food after our events, even this Monday after our workshop all the food was gone beside the can drinks! I plan on using the app frequently for our future events.

The Free Food Alert (FFA) that [our staff] including myself, have posted this semester, Fall 2023, have been quite successful in terms of the mission of the initiative. We have connected healthy foods/meals to students through FFA, which we could not have realized otherwise.

In short, I find FFA greatly satisfying, and I feel quite proud that JHU has this service on campus. I hope that FFA continues to expand its use and reach throughout our community. It certainly serves as one of the many ways that we can increase sustainability, equity, and justice in our campus community.

I love the Free Food Alert app. It is much easier to navigate than [V1.0 of FFA]. Although I set the alert up for an hour, all the food was gone in 30 minutes, so I had to go back in and close out the alert... it’s an awesome system, and I look forward to using it again in the future. We had about 10 people show up.
